16 April, the First Gentleman of Denmark, Bo Tengberg, and the First Lady of Ukraine, Olena Zelenska, visited Headspace, the largest nationwide civil society service for mental health prevention and support for young people aged 12 to 25.

This mental health service was founded by former Danish Prime Minister Poul Nyrup Rasmussen, who lost his daughter to suicide. Believing in the need for a more holistic approach, in the importance of listening, compassion and conversation, Mr Rasmussen created the centre to support young people in difficult situations. Currently, 32 such centres have been opened in Denmark, where you can call, visit or chat.

“I visited Headspace today to find out what we can adopt from Denmark for the All-Ukrainian Mental Health Program, which we have been working on since the beginning of the full-scale invasion. Our children are more vulnerable than we are, but they have us to find answers to all their difficult questions together,” — said Mrs Zelenska.
