Global Campaign: “Every generation leaves its mark. Education shapes its legacy”
The “Every generation leaves its mark. Education shapes its legacy” campaign was launched as the flagship global advocacy initiative of the 5th Summit of First Ladies and Gentlemen. Conceived as a powerful social change communication effort, it underscores education as the cornerstone of peacebuilding, international cooperation, and the prevention of conflict, disinformation, and injustice. This global initiative calls on leaders, educators, and societies to embrace education not only as a fundamental right, but as humanity’s most effective tool for shaping a peaceful, ethical, and resilient future: “Every generation leaves its mark. Education shapes its legacy.”
The campaign launch set the tone for the Summit’s discussions and became a rallying call to the world, uniting voices behind the shared commitment to ensure every child has access to inclusive, human-centred education that nurtures critical thinking, ethical leadership, and societal resilience.
Spread the word
This campaign highlights the decisive role of education in shaping our collective future and calls on the global community to rethink approaches to learning—not only as a system of knowledge, but as a force for building a better world through the hands of future generations. The campaign reflects the shared vision that the way we educate today defines the world we will inhabit tomorrow. In times of crisis—whether war, climate emergencies, or rapid technological change—accessible, human-centred education is not only a path to survival, but also to reconciliation, civic agency, and lasting peace.
Peace Lesson "Snapshots from Ukraine: Untold Stories of Teenagers"
The lesson “Snapshots from Ukraine: Untold Stories of Teenagers” is an educational project as part of the 5th Summit of First Ladies and Gentlemen, which gives Ukrainian teenagers the opportunity to share their experiences during the war through videos, art, written works, and other formats. It allows them to be heard and raises international awareness about the lives of young people in conflict conditions.
The purpose of the lesson is to foster empathy and support among participants, encourage self-expression and the mental well-being of teenagers, and develop critical thinking, creative, and communication skills. It helps participants better understand the experiences of young people and highlights the importance of support and safety during the war.
