The First Lady of Türkiye and the First Lady of Nigeria met to discuss cultural exchange projects and improving the status of women

On 20 May, a meeting took place in Ankara, the capital of Türkiye, between the First Lady of Türkiye, Emine Erdoğan, and the First Lady of Nigeria, Oluremi Tinubu. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss projects aimed at cultural exchange and improving the status of women in society.

During the meeting, the First Ladies of Türkiye and Nigeria had a meaningful discussion about the cultural partnership between their countries and highlighted each other’s achievements in various projects. Both expressed satisfaction with the warm meeting and hope for continued partnership.

It is worth noting that Emine Erdoğan is widely known for her particular interest in Africa, both culturally and in the humanitarian field. She attends events dedicated to the issues of African countries, such as “Volunteering Together with Africa”, and initiated a social responsibility project “African Handicrafts Market and Cultural House”. Mrs Erdoğan is also frequently involved in initiatives aimed at addressing climate, gender, and social issues. Notably, the First Lady of Türkiye participated online in the Third Summit of First Ladies and Gentlemen, which was dedicated to the topic of mental health.
