The Summit of First Ladies and Gentlemen Global Platform officially designated in Ukraine’s Public Diplomacy Strategy

The Summit of First Ladies and Gentlemen Global Platform has been officially recognised as one of Ukraine’s flagship public diplomacy initiatives in the Public Diplomacy Strategy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine for 2026–2030, enacted by Minister of Foreign Affairs Andrii Sybiha.

The Strategy identifies the Summit of First Ladies and Gentlemen and the MFA’s annual Honorary Ambassador of Ukraine ceremony as flagship initiatives for consolidating a global network of public diplomacy partners around Ukraine’s strategic priorities.

The updated Strategy outlines Ukraine’s vision for building trust-based international partnerships and strengthening the country’s global image through culture, education, science, sports, digital diplomacy, creative industries, youth engagement, and other areas of public diplomacy. It also introduces several new directions, including religious diplomacy, diplomacy of creative industries, fashion and design, and youth diplomacy.

In the foreword to the Strategy, Minister of Foreign Affairs Andrii Sybiha wrote:

“Today, when we speak to the world, we go beyond telling our own story and the context of Russia’s aggression. Increasingly, we offer a Ukrainian perspective on global processes and Ukrainian solutions to global challenges. And the world is listening.”

The inclusion of the Summit of First Ladies and Gentlemen Global Platform in the Strategy reaffirms its importance as one of Ukraine’s key public diplomacy instruments. By bringing together First Ladies and Gentlemen, governments, international organisations, the expert community, and civil society, the Platform advances international dialogue and promotes collaborative responses to global challenges.
