Olena Zelenska held video meetings with First Lady of Finland and First Gentleman of Slovenia

The First Lady of Ukraine, Olena Zelenska, spoke to her Finnish counterpart, Suzanne Iness-Stubb, for the first time. The call was dedicated to discussing current issues, including the Fourth Summit of First Ladies and Gentlemen. Mrs Iness-Stubb became the First Lady of Finland after her husband, Alexander Stubb, took office as President of Finland on 1 March 2024. She will join the discussion dimension ‘Child Safety at School’ at the Fourth Summit.

‘Research has shown that Finnish students experience lower levels of stress and anxiety than students in many other countries. This is partly due to government mental health support programmes. After all, safety is both being safe and feeling safe,’ – commented Mrs Zelenska.

Olena Zelenska also held a video conversation with Dr Aleš Musar, the First Gentleman of Slovenia. 

Dr Musar is an active member of the Summit’s First Ladies and Gentlemen Global Platform community and has already attended the 2023 Summit. The First Gentleman pays much attention to disinformation and misinformation and will join the discussion dimension ‘Child Safety in Cyberspace’ at the Fourth Summit.

The event will take place on 12 September 2024 in Kyiv and will be dedicated to the theme ‘Protecting Childhood: Ensuring a Safe Future’. Several First Ladies and Gentlemen have confirmed their interest and plan to attend the event.
